CREATIVE DIRECTOR
David Beck is a filmmaker, actor, and writer whose work explores intimacy, identity, and the emotional complexity between people. His debut feature, Regarding Us, which he co-wrote, co-directed, and produced, premiered to a sold-out audience at the TCL Chinese Theatre at Dances With Films and went on to win the Audience Choice Award for Best Film at OutReels Cincinnati during its festival run.
Following its festival circuit, Regarding Us enjoyed a limited theatrical run at Cinema Village in New York, with multiple sold-out screenings and strong audience response. Film Threat described the film as “poignant and transformative,” and The NYC Movie Guru wrote, “Kudos to Beck and Bobbi for seeing and treating everyone as complex human beings…Regarding Us remains refreshingly un-Hollywood.”
Before making his first feature, Beck wrote, directed, and starred in the short film Backup Plan—for which he also composed the score—and wrote, acted in, and co-produced the short For Francis. Both films screened at festivals, won multiple awards, and were shown in schools, universities, and correctional education programs, expanding their reach across diverse audiences and helping shape the emotionally detailed, character-driven storytelling that defines Beck’s work.
Beck is currently developing multiple international projects, including Embracing the Monster, a psychological thriller created in collaboration with choreographer Pontus Lidberg, and an American–Turkish feature directed by Can Merdan Doğan and starring Sercan Badur, for which he serves as co-writer and actor.
His background as an actor informs all stages of his filmmaking, grounding his stories in emotional truth. Beck’s growing international footprint reflects his commitment to telling intimate, character-focused stories across borders.
